It aims at establishing industrial development zone that produce, sale and export chemical goods which is fed with coal, equipment, accessories and tools for mining industrial development by introducing advanced technology and equipment into this region.    

In Chongnam County where the development zone is located, there is the Anju coal mine complex, the first region of coal mining in south Phyongan province.

It directly adjoins the field of 380 million tons’ soft coal. The average thermal value of the coal is 4 000㎉.

It makes a point of liquefied gas production depending on abundant brown coal, development of chemical industry, production and export of goods and consumer goods through processing and using of its’ waste materials.
