Orang agricultural development zone contains some parts of Yongjon ri and Puphyong ri, Orang county.

As a symbolic unit of the northern agricultural region on the east coast of the country, it will be developed into a highly efficient agricultural base with the introduction of modern chain type cycle production system in combination with livestock and fish farming while majoring in agricultural research and production. 

It will be the model base for breeding and seed selection, introduction base of advanced farming method for the production of vegetable and flowers including water saving and no-soil cultivation, modern base of quick-breeding livestock based on the chain type cycle agro-system that combines with livestock, fruit growing and fish farming

There will be the fish farming and fish processing industrial bases, using sea water and water of Jangyon Lake, a big natural lake adjacent to the area. In addition, it will also develop fruit culture including famous peach and plum in Orang region by expanding to the surrounding areas experience gained through the construction of model stage agricultural development zone.
