Wiwon industrial development zone consists of some parts of Kojin ri and Tokam ri, Wiwon county which stands along side of the River Wiwon- a branch of the Amnok River and opposite side of Jian city, Jilin Province of China.

At present, there is a metal silicon factory that produces metal silicon and ferrosilicon in this developing zone and its outskirts.

This zone has a good condition as a channel of entry and departure and goods’ transit because it is 20km from Wiwon frontier pass point connected to Jilin, China, 80km from Manpho frontier pass point and 180km from Junggang frontier pass point.

It is planning to create into an industrial development zone with a combination of sericulture and scientific research of fresh water fish farming on one hand and processing mineral resources, wood and local farm products and to manufacture mechanical equipment on the other by making best use of the hydraulic resources in the area and abundant underground resources and woods that guarantees profitable material condition for development.
