Songrim exporting and processing zone contains some parts of Songrim city.

The western part is faced with Taean district in Nampho city on the other side of the Taedong River and the northern part is located in the shore of the lower stream of the Taedong River linked with Kangnam county, Pyongyang city.

It has a favorable natural geographical condition for export and processing.

Songrim harbor is located on the bank of the Taedong River that is 7.5㎞ away from the zone.

It is planned to build the intensive exporting and processing zone composed with auxiliary enterprises employed in modern exporting and processing businesses, warehouse and cargo transport services majoring in second and third processing of imported raw materials from the harbors of Songrim and Nampho, several kinds of iron and steel products from the Hwanghae iron and steel complex, raw materials and other supplies from home and abroad.     

Exporting and bonded processing can be proceeded by using factories and enterprises in Songrim and Sariwon city adjacent to this zone.
