Established on Dec. 3rd, 1958

The Kaesong Koryo Insam Processing Factory, situated in Songak-dong, Kaesong City, was inaugurated on December 3rd, 1958 true to the instruction of President Kim Il Sung to build a factory which is specialized in ginseng processing.

Now it has become the one that can represent ginseng (Insam)  processing of the country putting spurs to the development of world-famous goods and commodities favored by people every year.

The factory is giving priority to the science and technology in order to maintain and further develop the position of Kaesong Koryo Insam and holding fast to quality control as a critical matter. 

By relying on its modern and comprehensive analyzing equipment, it went on with the work of quality assessment and development of new products, therefore it managed to receive GMP certification in January 2016.

It has also won a lot of prizes and medals in various international festivals and exhibitions.

The factory will, in the future too, develop ,in larger quantities, new insam products so as to contribute to the promotion of people’s health and demonstrate the superiority of Kaesong Koryo Insam to the world
