Outline: The Mubong Special Zone for International Tourism is tourism development zone majoring in comprehensive service for tourists and development of tourist products.
Location: Mubong Workers’ District in Samjiyon County, Ryanggang Province (41° 34′-42° 4′ N.L, 128° 23′-128° 29′ E.L)
Condition of Infrastructure: Water needed for operating hostels and service facilities is available with intake either from Tuman River by constructing a reservoir nearby Sinchon Water or from Sokul Streamlet (or Lake Mubong).
At present, it would be reasonable to get electric power from China, opposite to the Zone, through a transmission line (10kV).
Project Plan: It is planned to import scores of wooden houses (fabricated houses) from Russia around Lake Mubong for immediate use, while villas and hotel will be built along shore of Sokul Streamlet (or Lake Mubong) and Sinchon Water.
The blueberry garden, currently cultivated by the Blueberry Station, will be remained intact, enabling travellers to pick and process blueberries by themselves as part of experimental tour. To this end, loft villas are to be built on upper part of blueberry garden.
Water Park, an integrated service center and other relevant service facilities are to be built along shore of Sokul Streamlet (or Lake Mubong).
In the Zone, a horse riding area, a folk village, sports & entertainment facilities and in-door shooting range are also to be established.
