Wonsan Zone Development Corporation was established on April 10, Juche 103(2014) and its address is Pulgungori-dong № 2, Pothonggang District, Pyongyang, Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK).
The corporation is in charge of general works including investment attraction, cooperation and exchanges which are necessary for development and management of Wonsan-Mt. Kumgang International Tourist Zone, while progresses various trade and service activities with its affiliated companies.
The Zone includes the areas of Wonsan, Masikryong Ski Resort, Ullim Falls, Sog-wang Temple, Thongchon and Mt. Kumgang covering an area of some 430 ㎢.
The Wonsan area includes part of Wonsan City and Anbyon County; the Masikryong Ski Resort area, part of Wonsan City and Poptong County; the Ullim Falls area, part of Munchon City and Chonnae County; the Sogwang Temple area, part of Kosan County, the Thongchon area, part of Thongchon County; and the Mt. Kumgang area, the Mt. Kumgang Special Zone for International Tourism and part of Kosong and Kumgang counties.
Not only full-time members of the corporation but also specialists invited from companies, universities and institutes in and abroad have been prospectively doing works such as designing, researching, training, publishing and dissemination for development and management of the Zone.
The corporation has the president, three vice-presidents and departments of investment, planning, finance, management, external affairs, inside affairs and so on. The corporation has two affiliated companies – those are Myongsa Trading Company and Songjon Development Trading Company.
Myongsa Trading Company conducts shopkeeping, multimedia authoring & selling, oil marketing, transportation, seafood processing & selling, alluvial mining and etc. And Songjon Development Trading Company performs shopkeeping, aluminium-framed & wooden furniture making, Sijungho Bathing Resort management and etc.
The corporation will expand and develop the scale and contents of its works as the Zone develops further, and will also welcome foreign investments to the Zone and supply any possible cooperation for their successes and mutual profit.
