Outline: Township in Kangryong County, South Hwanghae Province which has soil condition favorable for crop cultivation and has possibility to sea fish farming and freshwater fish farming, is purposed to be developed into an industrial development zone majoring in the production of organic farm products and the processing of by-products by researching and developing the green industry technology. Based on this successes and experience, the Kangryong County is planned to be developed into a model international green zone.

Development Mode:

- Joint Development by relevant Korean enterprise and foreign investor in the form of JV 

- Establishment of wholly-owned foreign developing enterprise.

Term of Land Lease: Less than 50 years

Location: It is located in southwest area of township of Kangryong County in Kangryong peninsula of southern part of South Hwanghae Province. (125° 28′ to 125° 30′ east longitude and 37° 54′ to 37° 53′ north latitude).

Condition of Infrastructure: 

The zone has favorable condition to marine transportation due to the adjacent Haeju Port. Railway and road passing through the township are connected to Pyongyang- Haeju- Nampho.

As a part area of the township, the zone is linked with central downtown and with several roads to all directions of the county and thus, it is favorable to processing and trade.

The County has several thousand hectares for shallow-sea culture. Its abundant fish resources like sea cucumber, abalone, shellfish, seaweed, blue crab and flatfish and the ecological conditions favorable to sea culture are drawing the economic interest of several countries. Seafood products of Kangryong are being exported in Haeju Port through Kangryong town.

It has advantage to the industrial relations with neighboring areas, while it has enough condition of labor, electricity, water, communication network and road.

The zone is linked with township and so, it can be solved manpower for construction from several hundred of graduates of university and vocational schools every year.

Kangryong Township has a power network and favorable conditions for developing tidal power. It can be set up the international communications network since the optical fiber cable was already installed. Water can be used from the reservoir and underground water.

Bonded processing can be arranged by using factories and enterprises in the township, and it can be provided the raw materials such as marine products, local farm products and fish from the surrounding areas. Employees can come to work every day from their houses in township and residential quarters nearby.

Project Plan: The green industrial park will be created to the production base of green goods and their trade.

The Kangryong County has rich marine resources and ecological conditions and thus, it can be developed into the zone with natural energy and environmental conservation technical center, green industrial technical research, dissemination center, fish breeding and seafood processing hub.

As Kangryong Township has right soil for various farm crops like sweet potatoes, it can be developed into an experimental base for chain cycle production system of  agro-  stockbreeding, the production and processing base of organic farm products and tourist service base.
