Location: A part of the Tokpung Dong
area along the coast of Hamhung City which is situated on the border of Hamju
County
in the lower part of Songchon River which flows into Hamhung Bay, Central
East Coast, South Hamgyong Province. (longitude: 127 ゜33´East, latitude:
39゜ 50´North)
Condition of
Infrastructure:
It
is easier
for output and input of foreign labor and materials. For the energy supply for
the IDZ, it has a big Jangjin
Power Plant, Hochon Power Plant and Pujon
Power Plant. Since Hamhung City is the capital city of the province, it has no
big problem to set up communication network and Sonchon River is a great source
to supply water. Majon
Beach and Majon Hotel, famous tourist resorts are
located near, providing favorable business environments to
the investors.
Project Plan:
This area is near to Hungnam Seaport and has been a Korean main Chemicals
Industry & large-scale machine manufacturing zone for a long time. These
special characteristics of the zone will be efficiently utilized during the
construction of the IDZ which mainly includes processing-on-commission, chemicals production, catalyst
production, machine equipment manufacturing, building materials and medicine
production.
Manufactured products will be
exported or catered to abroad and into domestic region according to requests
and needs. Large-scale factories and enterprises such as Ryongsong Machine
Complex,
2.8 Vinalon Complex, Hamhung Woods Processing Factory
and Hamhung Silicate Brick Factory which are all located around the IDZ could
produce and supply necessary equipment, resources and bonded products.
If a try-out IDZ construction gets successful, it will be expanded
further to Hamju Area.
