It is planned to establish industrial development zone by using its favorable geographic condition near Wonsan port, the main seaport in the Korean East Coast. Its main industry includes information & light industry combining with tourist souvenir industry.

Development Mode:

-Joint Development by relevant Korean enterprise and foreign investor in the form of JV

- Establishment of wholly-owned foreign developing enterprise.

Term of land lease: Less than 50 years

Total investment: About US$ 100 million

Location: A part of land in Hyondong-ri , Wonsan City, Kangwon Province which is situated around the Kalma area facing with Wonsan Bay’s Galma Peninsula. (longitude: 127 ゜27´East,  latitude:  39゜06´North)

Condition of Infrastructure: It has a favorable condition of infrastructure which make it easier for input and output of foreign labor, materials and funds.

Rich electricity resources from Anbyon Youth Power Plant could be utilized and Kalma River can be used for water supply and sewage disposal.

The land is flat and it is easier for materials and supplies to be transported.

There are a few buildings and attachments to be removed and thus, so it’s favorable for speeding up its development. After preparation, development could be expanded to the east of Jangsan. 

Project Plan: By utilizing geographic superiority of Wonsan Seaport which had been the main sea path connected to Japan for a long time, the zone shall develop information industry and light industry centered on ''processing-on-commission'' combining with tourist souvenir production suitable for state's strategy to develop Wonsan zone into world-class tourist area. Special products produced in these economic development zones in the other provinces will be introduced to the IDZ to vitalize tourist souvenir production. Wonsan City has a plenty of labor resources which could be employed profitably and bonded processing shall be done in different factories and small enterprises in the city. In addition to this, as one category of business, a processing industry of mountain resources of several counties in Kangwon Province such as Anbyon County is planned to be established.
