It is designated and planned to establish economic development zone majoring in modern agriculture, tourism and trade.

Development Mode:

- Joint venture development enterprise between Korean enterprise of concern and foreign investor

- Establishment of wholly-owned foreign developing enterprise.

Term of Land Lease: Less than 50 years

Total Investment: Approximately 120 million US$

Location: Some areas of Mita-ri, Manpho City in Jagang Province facing with Jian City and Tonghua City, Jilin Province, China  ( longitude 126°05′East ~126°10′, latitude 41°04′North ~41°06′).

Condition of Infrastructure: Even though it is located in inland zone, it’s possible for marine transportation between DPR Korea and PR China on Amnok River if a wharf is to be constructed. 

It has no big problem to set up communication network of the zone and the Amnok River is a great source to supply industrial water.

There are a few buildings and attachments to be removed and thus it’s favorable to speed up the development.

Project Plan: The international service center of tourism and trade is planned to be established in Mita-ri area.

In Posang-ri area, it is also planned to establish the modern agricultural base majoring in farming and stock-breeding and herb-cultivating based on the modern circular system.

Recreational activities and tourism could be enjoyed by many people visiting some famous places and Amnok River. Mita mineral water is very good for chronic gastritis, duodenum ulcer, chronic small intestine, chronic large intestine, chronic hepatitis, obesity and senile arteriosclerosis.

It is planned to develop the bonded processing of the foreign enterprises in the EDZ and to extend out processing industry of abundant resources in Jagang Province.

In the area of Posang-ri, where shining hours are quite longer, processing industry is to be established with the main projects of farming, stock-breeding and medical herbs-cultivating.

When the construction of EDZ goes smoothly in the first stage, the development could be expanded in accordance with the needs of investors.
