Waudo EPZ’s purpose is to establish an intensive export- processing zone majoring in export processing introduced by advanced development or management methods.

Development Mode: 

-Joint Development by relevant Korean enterprise and foreign investor in form of JV

- Establishment of wholly foreign-owned developing enterprise.

Term of Land Lease: 50 years at maximum

Total Investment: Approximately US$ 100million 

Location: Some areas in Ryongnam-ri, Waudo District from the lower part of Taedong River at southern west of Nampho City to West Sea Barrage (The east longitude is approximately 125°18′,  the north longitude is approximately 38°43′)

Condition of Infrastructure: This zone is favorable to the internal/external marine transportation and input/output of personage, goods and funds.  

This area has rich source of water supply of Taedong River and has no problem in building-up communication system.

It is plain and has no troubles of building attachments to be evacuated and removed.

Project Plan: This zone is nearby to Nampho Port which links directly to China and Southeast Asia and it is also located close to Pyongyang and Nampho, equipped with advanced industry. Due to its geographic advantages and abundant labor sources the zone is also favorable to

establish a model of export processing zone majoring in the export orientated processing industry by using enough manpower and import materials.

After completing the construction on the first stage, this zone could be expanded to Jindo, Waudo District.

Prospectively, we shall build economic development zone majoring financing, tourism, real estate, food processing in some areas of Nampho City with a beautiful scenery site-West Sea Barrage centering on Nampho Port.
